There are a variety of free storytime activities available at the public libraries in Fremont, Union City, and Newark. For example, there’s:
BabyBounce Storytime Tuesdays at the Fremont Library - This volunteer-led storytime is designed for babies who can walk. It consists of stories, rhymes, songs, fingerplays and lapjogs or bounces. It takes place every other month: January, March, May, July, September, November.
Toddler Time at the Union City Library – The Union City Library Toddler Time, from 10:30 – 11 a.m., is a fun introduction to books, songs and games for our youngest Library patrons. Space is limited to 20 adult/child pairs, one child from 16 – 35 months per adult as each child needs an adult lap to sit on. Attendance at all four meetings is highly recommended. Advance registration is required.
Lapsit for Prewalkers at the Fremont Library - Lapsit is designed for babies who are not yet able to walk. It consists of a 20 minute storytime with stories, rhymes, songs, fingerplays and lapjogs or bounces, followed by an informal “Stay and Play” for 20 minutes. It takes place every other month: January, March, May, July, September, November. Advance registration is required.
Stay n Play at Newark Library - For 18-35 month old children, we will have the space, some toys, and the society of other children available to your child. No babysitter is available, this is time for you and your child to socialize. This is a drop-in event, no registration is necessary.
For times, registration information, and other upcoming events, see the Alameda County Library Toddlers Events website.
