As you can imagine, Earth Day is sort of a big deal in these parts. Here are a few upcoming Earth Day events in the East Bay:

PLANT IT EARTH! at MOCHA, Tuesday-Friday, April 20-25, 10 am to 3 pm. Drop-in art studio at the Museum of Children’s Art in Oakland.

Earth Day at Habitot, Thursday, April 22, 9:30 am – 12:30 pm
- In the Art Studio, work together to build a giant pretend city – skyscrapers, houses, parks and playgrounds – all from recycled materials donated by companies and factories. The city will be put on display in the window in the corridor!

Earth (Worm) Day at the Sunol Visitor Center, Thursday, April 22nd, 10-11:30 am – Celebrate earth day with the tiny, mighty worm! Make life greener by creating a worm-composter to use at home for kitchen and garden waste. Bring 10 gallon plastic tub with lid and newspaper.

Berkeley Earth Day
, Saturday, April 24 – this is a very large Earth Day festival, complete with food, live music, talks, demonstrations, and of course, more hippies than you can shake a hand crafted hemp woven stick at. There are plenty of fun sights for the stroller set to enjoy, and many companies and non-profits have informational booths out which include educational activities and sometimes even free stuff for kids.
