Entrance to all 392 National Parks is free during National Park Week, April 17-25! Bay Area On The Cheap has a roundup of national parks in the Bay Area. Some of these (such as the Rosie the Riveter WWII Home Front National Historical Park) are free anyway, but some (e.g. Muir Woods) normally charge fairly steep admission fees.
